This research aims to analyze the impact of globalization on the behavior, mindset, and socio-cultural identity of the younger generation in Elelim District, Yalimo Regency. The main focus is on how local cultural values interact with global influences in shaping the character of the younger generation, as well as the extent to which they are able to maintain cultural identity in the midst of modernization. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, with key informants including the younger generation, traditional leaders, educators, parents, and local government. Data analysis was done thematically to identify patterns of social and cultural change. The results show that globalization has a double impact: on the one hand, it opens up new opportunities in access to information and capacity building for youth, but on the other hand, it threatens the preservation of local values such as the use of local languages, customary practices, and community solidarity. The younger generation shows a tendency to adopt global popular culture, but some still try to maintain ancestral heritage through involvement in traditional activities and cultural arts. This research concludes that the socio-cultural changes of Yalimo's young generation occur dynamically and selectively. Therefore, the main recommendation is the need for synergy between the government, educational institutions, and indigenous communities in developing an adaptive cultural preservation strategy, based on the participation of the younger generation, and integrated with regional development policies.
