Noken sebagai Alat Transportasi & Simbol Identitas Perempuan Suku Wallak

This study aims to identify and explore how Noken is not only used as a means of transportation to carry goods but also a symbol of strength and identity for Wallak women in Wollo Village, Wollo District, Jayawijaya Regency. The research method used is through a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation that allowed to collect data in accordance with the conditions that occur in the surrounding community. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that Noken has an important role in forming a symbol of the strength of Wallak women's identity. For the Wollo community, the position of Wallak women is declared an adult when they can weave their own noken. In addition, this study highlights the importance of Noken in preserving valuable ancestral cultural heritage, which serves as a medium to express the values and traditions of the community.
